Hey, my name is Kita Casey.
My story
Meet Kita Casey, the creative mind behind the debut children’s book “The Adventures of Daisy Pom-a-Pug,” launching an exciting new series. Originally from London, Kita’s upbringing in the world of performance fueled her natural talent and love for crafting songs. Her deep affection for music and the arts led her to realise that her life’s purpose revolved around creating and performing.
Beyond her performance career, Kita has over a decade of experience teaching children singing, dance, and drama. Inspired by the profound impact of creativity on her own life, Kita embarked on a teaching journey, driven by a desire to offer children the same opportunities for self-expression and growth. Teaching became more than just a profession—it became a way for Kita to continually utilise her talents while making a meaningful impact on young lives.
With her mother’s roots in Southern Ireland, Kita’s school breaks were often spent reconnecting with her grandparents and extended family in Ireland. These visits were filled with joyful adventures exploring the countryside fields and boglands, alongside her younger cousins. Despite growing up surrounded by her grandparents’ pets, Kita yearned for a furry companion of her own. However, living in a London flat without a garden, her mother believed it was unfair to have a pet.
Years later, during a visit to her Mum and brother in Kerry, Ireland, fate intervened. A neighbour offered them the opportunity to adopt a tiny and adorable puppy—Daisy, the Pomeranian x Pug. In a serendipitous moment, Kita’s lifelong dream came true as Daisy found her forever home and a devoted best friend in Kita.
Although Kita had been songwriting for years, the idea of writing a book didn’t really cross her mind until Daisy entered her life. Daisy’s infectious joy and the attention she received wherever they went inspired Kita to transform her into a children’s character. After nurturing the idea for over a year, a surge of inspiration finally propelled Kita to act. Listening to her inner call, Kita allowed her creativity to flow freely, resulting in the creation of “The Adventures of Daisy Pom-a-Pug.”
