Book a workshop with Kita
Centering around themes of
Kita’s author visits are delivered in an uplifting, interactive workshop style that uses The Adventures of Daisy Pom-a-Pug as a springboard to explore deeper themes of self-worth, individuality, and connection. While the book itself is light-hearted, fun, and rhythmic — an introduction to the loveable Daisy Pom-a-Pug — Kita brings it to life with vibrant storytelling, creative games, discussion prompts, and a joyful musical element where children learn Daisy’s catchy theme song, Love & Fluffy Hugs.
Each workshop is tailored to the group, but the heart of every session remains the same: to help every child feel seen, valued, and inspired to celebrate their own unique voice.
Workshops are primarily designed for Nursery, Reception, and KS1 — aligning with the book’s core age range — but Kita is always open to discussing alternative settings or adapting the visit to suit different needs. Reviews from schools
“Kita’s visit was an absolute delight. High energy, super positivity, clear engagement and involvement of all, and making every aspect of the visit equally accessible to all was evident. Using every child’s name, celebrating them for their own talents, and being specia, linked perfectly to the theme of the book and children responded well to this. The theme of the book was understood by all; they loved the rhyming sections and enjoyed the illustrations. Kita was such a wonderful start to the week for our three youngest year groups – thank you!”
“Kita brought energy, enthusiasm and lots of fun to her workshop! The children were mesmerised and besides themselves with excitement. They were fully engaged and totally immersed in Kita’s world of drama, self-awareness and storytelling.”
“Kita was an absolute delight to have visit our classroom and deliver her workshop. The children showed full engagement throughout the entire session and were all smiling and laughing throughout too. Kita with the children straight away and hooked them in with the starter music challeng. it was lovely to see the children so involved (even those who were quite shy joined straight in). The children really loved the book too, we have read it every day since in class and they still really enjoy it. They are noticing more and more little features in the pictures and story each time we read it.”
“Kita was very engaging with the children and lots of fun. She treated the children as individuals and as unique. She had empathy and respect for every single child.”
“Nikita was very professional. She was enthusiastic and the children responded well to her. Nikita kept her energy going throughout the session. She allowed the children to share their experiences and opinions and responded appropriately. The children loved hearing Nikita’s story about Daisy the pom-a-pug and loved that they could get involved with the rhyme.”
“Kita had an excellent rapport with the children and high expectations of them when she was with them. The visit was high-energy and engaging and the children loved taking part in the different activities, especially the mirror game. The children enjoyed the story and were still talking about it after the visit had ended.”

“If you have a voice, you have a story to tell. Through sharing our stories, we give others permission to speak their truth and follow their dreams. To me, writing should be less about ‘being a writer’ and more about sharing your story. Being a good writer has its place, but it’s about having the freedom to share your message. There is so much to be learned from each other’s unique, individual experience and expression.”
Early years, and KS1. The Adventures of Daisy Pom-a-Pug is ideal for children ages 3-6 years and so the workshops cater best to this age group.
Kita’s background is in the Performing Arts, with 10+ years experience teaching children as a drama & singing teacher, as well as working as a temp TA in primary schools across London, including working one-to-one with children with Special Educational Needs. Kita worked as a children’s entertainer for 6 years, which was in fact her first official job. Kita’s career has always involved performing in her own right and teaching children, particularly through the arts. Kita is very familiar with the school environment, having been a workshop leader in schools, running dance, singing and drama workshops for KS1 and KS2.
Yes. She is registered on the update system. She will bring this with her on the day of the visit and this can also be forwarded in advance, once a visit is booked and confirmed.
YES! Upon request, Daisy can also attend the visit with Kita. The meet and greet with Daisy would happen in the last 10 minutes of the workshop. This would involve having a chaperone who would assist Daisy whilst the workshop is going on and bring her in at the end. This allows Kita to run the workshops effectively and works best for Daisy.
Just as in the book, Daisy loves everyone and is as friendly and cuddly in real life as she is in the story. However, Daisy is of course, still an animal, and she could become overwhelmed and overstimulated by meeting lots of new people/young children at once.
Having a visit from a cute doggy, such as Daisy, can also be just as stimulating and exciting for the children so it is in the best interest of the children and Daisy to keep her visit short and sweet. Kita also takes into consideration that not all children are/will be confident with dogs and so Daisy will not overstay her welcome.
